RELATIONSHIPS: Receives support and overall supervision from Manager Reservations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Complete a reservation request from start to finish. Follow up with vendors on pending items as necessary Receive and process confirmed or denied requests from vendors Complete confirmation/invoice for review by supervisor Forward confirmation/invoice to client or tour operator.
Customer Service - Respond to correspondence from customers/tour operators via fax and e-mail for general inquiries and reservations - Assist traveling customers with questions/problems as they arise -Communicate with customers and/or Manager to ensure consistency between products offered in relation to client expectations - Participate in after-hours emergency cell phone schedule
General Tasks - Assist accounting with verifying vendor invoices as needed. - Assist with documentation as needed - Other office duties as assigned

Develop/administer ACVB’s local, national/international media relations programs/campaigns. Use Anchorage/South-central Alaska knowledge to develop/implement media familiarization itineraries, fact check stories, identify news angles and pitch story ideas to targeted media. Write annual reports, speeches, brochure copy, print/broadcast ad copy, newsletters, news releases, “canned” stories, fact sheets/backgrounders, e-communications materials, PowerPoint presentations, and Web/Web 2.0 content. Build/maintain relationships with journalists. Act as liaison for media, members and community regarding tourism/economic impact statistics. Maintain crisis communications plan. Weekend/evening work involved.
Qualifications
Completion of a 4 year degree in PR/Communications (or similar) and at least 3 years relevant work experience. Proven experience in journalistic-style and PR writing and editing. Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to speak one-on-one or to groups. Working knowledge of social media and Web 2.0 applications. Available to travel and ability to manage multiple projects. Team player, yet successfully work independently.
